"Alone in the Kitchen with an Eggplant"

I think I would like to get a copy of this book. It would suit me to read about eating alone, since I eat alone many times in a week.

I don't mind going into restaurants to dine by myself. I'll either people watch, eavesdrop on conversations (especially when they're practically screaming in my ear), or read. That's why I bring books with me, and that's why I need handbags that can fit my books. Ergo, my left shoulder is stronger than my right, since my handbags weigh a ton.

I want to read this too. I first read about it over at Ilva's I think ( http://lucullian.blogspot.com/2007/07/alone-in-kitchen-with-eggplant-review.html) and then in other blogs and I remember thinking it was a frisky little book because of the title. heehee.

Anyway, I had my share of cooking for one and I'm glad I didn't have to convince myself much that it was worth it. Let me know if and when you read this and how it is.

Let me know how it is too! I fell in love with cooking when I started cooking for one...so the art of cooking and dining solo, will always be special to me :) I still do it now!

Nens...frisky title...hahaha!

Nena, you're too funny! Wonder why *I* of all people didn't think of that? Could it be 'cause I haven't (yet) equated the kitchen with "friskiness?" ;-)

I don't much like eating alone when I'm out, though I don't mind it at home. I once spent 5 days in Tagaytay alone, eating out for every meal. I brought a book with me, so I wasn't bored, and I did relish being able to choose restos and dishes without considering anyone else's taste. But I think eating with good company will always be my preference. It's just not the same without someone to share the experience with.

Haha! Food (and kitchens by mere association) have never been the same for me after 9 & 1/2 weeks. :)

I may have to put a NC17 rating on this post.
katrina, i am shocked! shocked to hear you haven't been at play in the kitchen! Unimaginable! (rofl)
Nena, couldn't stop laughing when I read this. I may end up tittering all throughout the reading of this book. Or worse, unable to look at an eggplant again!

Perhaps it's 'cause kitchen counters are so hard? Or because I'm only now starting to appreciate eggplant? ;-)
