Ode to Ananas

Oh banana, you come so yellow, green, mottled with specks
You are chipped, dipped, whipped, or mushed
How sweet you are made into a snack
Slathered with pj or nutella or cheese
Eaten with adobo and rice
Or menudo!

I baked you, snack on your chips
But I like you best raw, stripped of your yellow sleeve.
May you live long and prosper. Nanu nanu

Sorry, Watergirl, can't relate. Banana is my least favorite fruit. I choke on it, no kidding :-) And spare me the sight of bananas eaten with rice. Do I need psychiatric treatment or what? But I can eat banana cake and banana as a fruit shake.

No need for apologies Socky. Each to her own preference. I used to dislike bananas/saba in pochero and eaten with arroz a la cubana (the one with a fried egg on top with fried ground pork/beef), but again, tastes change and I've been able to take it in most forms.

Nena's (gypsysoul's) recipe of banana bread has made my co-workers very, very happy! They've gobbled up 2 loaves and want more! I've created a monster.
